Seasonal Technician

 

 

Sublette County Weed and Pest is hiring for our seasonal spray technician positions. We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and hard working individuals with a passion for the outdoors. Employees will directly contribute to a healthier ecosystem for Sublette County by reducing harmful noxious weeds that degrade forage opportunities for mule deer, elk, antelope, sage grouse, and livestock. Employees will work across all land ownerships to control noxious weeds. Applicants can expect to see many different locations around our beautiful county. As a seasonal spray employee for Sublette County Weed and Pest you will have the opportunity to gain skills and experiences that will benefit you for the rest of your life. Working as a seasonal spray employee opens many doors in the future if you choose to pursue a career in noxious weed control, range land management, agricultural production or wildlife management.

 

Job duties:

  • On the job training of noxious weed identification 

  • Treating State and County listed noxious weeds

  • Using GPS/mapping programs

  • Operating various vehicles (spray trucks, trailers, UTV’s, ATV’s)

  • Backpack spraying

  • Reporting to supervisors daily

  • Daily log of spray reports 

  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

  • Safe handling and use of pesticides

Hours:

  • Start date of May 31, 2024

  • Typical work day begins at 6:00 AM 

  • 40+ hours a week (weather dependent)

  • Opportunity for overtime 

Pay:

  • $15.00/hour starting wage

  • $0.50 cent raise upon passing commercial applicator test

  • 1.5x hourly rate for overtime hours worked 

  • Early commitment bonus of $250 for applying before March 1st, 2024 

  • $1.00/hour raise for returning seasonal technicians
